Agrilinks created this video on how the Fish Innovation Lab's Samaki Salama team builds their modified fish traps. This type of trap is more durable; plus, it has an escape door for juvenile fish to leave the trap, only capturing the more mature fish, so the smaller fish can continue to grow. In the long run, this helps small-scale fishers spend less money on repairing traps and supports the long-term sustainability of the fishery for improved food security and nutrition.
