The “Harnessing Machine Learning to Estimate Aquaculture Production and Value Chain Performance in Bangladesh” project is working in the area of integrated rice-prawn/shrimp-vegetable farming.
In this video, the team shows an economic analysis of the integrated farming system as well as discusses the benefits for Bangladesh farmers in adopting this practice. From the data, the total area and productivity of prawn and shrimp farms have increased in recent years from the integrated approach. Additionally, farmers have experienced better yields thanks to the increase in soil fertility.
