The Machine Learning for Better Aquaculture activity interviewed a Bangladeshi farmer who uses a low-cost, long-distance irrigation tool on his rice-fish farm. Since prawn/shrimp farms are often constructed close to each other in southwest Bangladesh, many farms do not have a system for get water from the canal to the Gher. Luckily, farmers have created a simple technology to move water from the canal into the Gher by pumping water through long, plastic pipes.
